Phillips Energy Raises More Than $6,000 to Fuel the Fight Against Alzheimer’s
Phillips Energy is proud to announce that its 2025 Longest Day fundraising efforts raised a total of $6,132.28 for the Alzheimer’s Association — a powerful kickoff to its annual community-wide campaign.
Each year on The Longest Day, the summer solstice, Phillips Energy joins individuals and organizations nationwide in recognizing the day with the most light — and turning that light into hope for the millions affected by Alzheimer’s disease. This year’s efforts included a day-long fuel fundraiser where 10% of sales from its public gas station in Gloucester were donated to the cause, a community celebration at Gloucester Brewing Company and a raffle for a Blackstone griddle.
“Our mission goes beyond fueling homes and vehicles,” said Elizabeth McCormick, Vice President of Phillips Energy. “We’re committed to fueling hope, awareness and action. We’re incredibly grateful for the support of our customers, partners and community in making this year’s Longest Day efforts such a success.”
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and memory loss in aging adults, and it hits close to home for McCormick and her brother, John Phillips, President of Phillips Energy. Their grandfather and company founder, L. Frank Phillips Sr., died from the disease, as did their father, L. Frank Phillips Jr., and Crystal Allmond Phillips, their grandmother.
“We won’t stop until we find a cure,” McCormick said
These fundraising efforts mark the beginning of Phillips Energy’s 2025 fundraising campaign for the Alzheimer’s Association. The company will once again field a team for the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's - Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 4.
“There’s nothing more powerful than a community coming together for a cause,” John Phillips said. “The Longest Day may only come once a year, but the fight to end Alzheimer’s continues every day — and we’re in it for the long haul.”
