Phillips Energy, Inc. - Our Past and Who We Are

Phillips Energy, Inc. serves as a full energy service provider to commercial and residential customers in the upper Tidewater area of Virginia with specific focus on the Gloucester, Mathews, York County and Williamsburg areas. We function as one of the area's only providers of Heating Oil, On and Off-Road Diesel fuels, Gasoline, Propane, Dyed and Clear Kerosene, and Lubricants allowing us to fully accommodate a broad customer base. Additionally, our service and installation departments ensure customers can rely on Phillips Energy, Inc. for all of their energy needs.

Phillips Energy, Inc. was founded in 1946 by L. Frank Phillips Sr. in Gloucester County as LF Phillips & Sons, Inc. At that time, Phillips Energy, Inc. sold heating fuels, gasoline and motor oils. In the 1980's, the company expanded into Mathews and in 1994, we purchased Tidewater Oil, Inc. of Mobjack, Virginia under the direction of L.F. Phillips, Jr.

Over the last 10 years, the company has acquired JCB Oil, added a propane gas distribution division, a propane appliance installation and service division and an HVAC installation and service division. Additionally, Phillips Energy, Inc. now has two locations; Gloucester County and Mathews County, with a bulk plant in each location.
